All Supplements MUST Reduce Histamine Levels or Else

Any supplement that is NOT listed above should be checked to determine their effect on histamine and the mast cells. In my opinion, if you can’t find a study showing it decreases histamine or modulates mast cells, then it is a RISK. The last thing you need to do is trip your mast cells/immune system by taking a supplement that actually aggravates it.

Remember, when you healing your immune system, it’s kind of like “letting the scab heal”. To win this battle, you must recondition the mast cells/immune system so they learn to expect a low stress environment. Then they will secrete primarily anti-inflammatory chemicals, instead of inflammatory ones.

Don’t Cheat on the Low Histamine Diet – Period

Keep in mind, these supplements are far more effective when following a low histamine diet. Simply put, the less histamine you are exposing yourself to, the faster you will progress. If you trip the mast cells with some food with induces histamine secretion/mast cell activation, you are in essence “picking the scab”. Remember, your immune system must be conditioned into being calm via your lifestyle, diet, schedule, and supplementation. At this point, the enemy is no longer histamine, it’s “excessiveness”. All of these played an important part in my recovery from histamine intolerance and mast cell activation. Their importance will be dependent upon how deficient you are and other factors. When I work with clients, I implement them at different stages depending on the situation so don’t just try this at home and expect it to pan out perfectly. You NEED help from someone who HAS BEEN THROUGH IT already.

Does the brand of the supplement really matter when fighting histamine intolerance?

YES!!!!! The brand is just as critical as any step in this process. The bioavailability is completely different in one versus another, and with those who are chronically ill, this is even more important.

How will I feel after starting these supplements?

In my experience, if you start the low histamine diet, and the supplements at the same time, you should notice gradual relief over the first 3-5 days. This tension will dissolve slowly into relaxation. At that point, the GABA increases, and your histamine levels start to crash. Typically, you get 2-3 days of DEEP SLEEP after the histamine crash occurs.

Once you wake up from your slumber, your body starts to gain more energy day by day. Within a week, you notice you feel calmer and have more stamina than you did before starting. This is the pattern I followed, along with nearly all of my clients. From beginning to end it only takes 10-15 days (IF DIET IS FOLLOWED 100%) to escape histamine excess.

What is key to success for those battling histamine intolerance?

Identifying ALL hidden triggers in your environment, and then removing them at the same time you start the supplements/diet. DO NOT ADD ANYTHING SUPPLEMENT WISE BEYOND WHAT WAS DISCUSSED ABOVE. Do not cheat for weeks, if not months on low histamine diet, and ROTATE ALL FOODS.

Keep in mind, histamine inducing foods/activities/substances are deeply woven into your daily life. In short, It will not be easy to give these things up, trust me. Either take this seriously and avoid ALL sensitivities, or you’ll be caught in a never ending cycle of symptoms. Do what you know is right, give your immune system 3-4 months without ANY reactions, and then try to live life “how you want to”.

How do you know these supplements work for histamine intolerance?

I overcame histamine intolerance using these strategies and supplements. Furthermore, I even took these supplements after creating a histamine reaction intentionally. This allowed me to determine if they would stop the current reaction from getting worse, or they would make it worse. How can I identify my HIDDEN food sensitivities that are causing histamine issues?

You MUST follow a strict BLAND low histamine diet for 10 days AT LEAST, and then you reintroduce 1 new food every 3 days. If you notice ANY changes in energy/emotion/sleep/allergies/hyperactivity/past symptoms, then you remove that food from your diet. Please keep in mind, the histamine high that comes with some foods can be EASILY misinterpreted. Also, if possible, wear a watch that measures heart beat. If your heart raises 10+ beats per minute within 45 minutes of eating, you may have a food sensitivity.

Common histamine reaction symptoms are red skin, dry skin, itchiness/tingle on skin, mind racing. obsessive thoughts, energy spikes/crashes, brain fog, slow bowel movements, dark feeling comes and goes, slight weakness in muscles, pressure in face/forehead/eyes area, tired shortly after eating, temporary urge to urinate, desire to consume A LOT more food fast, sleep interruptions, touching face more often, etc.
