Raw Colostrum Helps with Mold Colonization & Mycotoxin Illness

Raw colostrum for mold colonization and mycotoxin illnessWhen people think about all the ways to recover from mold illness, no one mentions raw colostrum. The reason is- they’ve never tried it! Fortunately, I came across this miraculous substance while in the middle of an epic health battle that lasted over a decade.

Since then, I have drank thousands of gallons of colostrum, and yes, I do MOOOO randomly during the day! After seeing colostrum help both myself and my daughter overcome the damage caused by mold illness, I was more of a believer than ever. For this reason, I wanted to create an article about how colostrum can help with mold colonization and mycotoxin illness.

In this article, I will discuss my experiences using raw colostrum for mold illness and colonization. I will then list several ways that raw colostrum can help you overcome mold colonization and mycotoxin illness. Last, I will cover important questions about using colostrum to beat your mold-related symptoms.

Using Colostrum for Mold Illness

My Experiences with Raw Colostrum

At one point, I was reacting to everything except six different foods. The rest were causing me itching all over, panic attacks, throat swelling, and more. In addition, if there were a smell in the air, it would trigger muscle pains, mood shifts, etc. With all this stress, I thought I would end up crazy one day until I came across colostrum.

Truthfully, colostrum was an absolute game-changer. It turned on my immune system, restored the gut lining, rebalanced the bacteria, reduced the severity of my food sensitivities, got rid of my rashes, helped me regain weight, and more. Though it did not cure me of mycotoxin sensitivity, it restored balance in my body so that I could function again. Of course, I had to make plenty of other changes, but without colostrum, I would’ve never had a chance.

My Daughter/Client’s Experiences with Raw Colostrum

When my daughter was initially sick, I tried to give her colostrum, and it sent her into asthma attacks. I had no idea what was happening since I never experienced this. Later, once we no longer lived in a place with mycotoxins, she started to tolerate raw colostrum fine with no problems. It made a massive difference for her, helping to eliminate rashes and stabilize her stomach. I have seen the same scenario with clients. The ones that do not tolerate colostrum are being exposed to mycotoxins in their home, which impair their ability to break down fats and proteins.

The reality is that some people can handle raw colostrum when they are still being exposed to mold, and others can’t. For colostrum to work at its full potential, you must in a safe environment where you are NOT being triggered. In addition, you cannot consume foods that trigger you every day. This is why colostrum is part of a multifaceted plan, not a silver bullet in itself.

How Colostrum Helps Mold Colonization

Killing Mold Colonization

Raw contains lactoferrin and other bioactive compounds that have antifungal effects. Lactoferrin binds to iron, a nutrient that is necessary for mold survival. If they don’t have enough iron, they can’t replicate and cause problems. In addition, colostrum has immunoglobulins that target and remove pathogenic fungi and their biofilms.

Restoring Gut Health to Resist Mold Colonization

Mycotoxins such as ochratoxin, trichothecenes, and aflatoxins can disrupt the intestinal barrier. When this occurs, it can lead to leaky gut, which causes systemic inflammation. Colostrum contains transforming /epidermal growth factors that promote the regeneration of the gut lining and repair the tight junctions. This is one of the things that makes colostrum so invaluable.

Immune System Modulation to Fight Mold Colonies

Chronic mycotoxin exposure causes the immune system to become severely compromised. When this occurs, mold colonies and candida can start to thrive. Fortunately, colostrum contains something called PRP (proline-rich polypeptides). This unique substance modulates the immune response and enhances T cells’ function, allowing the body to fight off pathogens naturally. The reality is, you cannot overcome mold colonization or any chronic infection when the immune system is unbalanced.

Binding and Detoxifying Mycotoxins from Mold Colonies

Mycotoxin binds to cell membranes, causing cellular dysfunction and oxidative stress. Raw colostrum contains immunoglobins that bind to mycotoxins in the gut, reducing systemic absorption. In addition, colostrum increases the natural production of glutathione, which helps neutralize reactive oxygen species and improve detoxification through the liver.

Supporting Beneficial Microbes to Outcompete Mold

Colostrum contains oligosaccharides and other prebiotic compounds that promote the growth of beneficial bacteria like lactobacillus and bifidobacterium. These beneficial bacteria compete in the gut with mold colonies, and their metabolic byproducts create an unfavorable environment for mold growth.

Reducing Inflammation Caused by Mold and Mycotoxins

Chronic exposure to mycotoxins can cause the release of inflammatory molecules like IL-6 and TNF-alpha, which causes chronic inflammation/symptoms. Colostrum improves inflammation by modulating mast cell activation and encouraging the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines like IL-10. These anti-inflammatory compounds counteract inflammation in the gut, joints, brain, and more.

Repairing Tissues Damaged by Mold Colonization

Mycotoxins can damage the gut lining, respiratory tract, and blood-brain barrier. Fortunately, colostrum contains epidermal and insulin growth factors that promote cellular and tissue regeneration. These growth factors encourage the repair of the areas negatively affected by mycotoxin exposure. Restoring the barriers in these critical areas stops the mycotoxins from penetrating into the blood, which would cause immune activation and systemic symptoms.

Nutritional Support for Recovery from Mold Illness

Chronic exposure to mycotoxins can deplete the body of essential nutrients and impair the ability to absorb them from your food. When it occurs, it can cause significant disruption to various systems in the body. Thankfully, colostrum contains many of the essential nutrients that your body needs in an easily absorbable form. For example, it has essential amino acids, vitamins (A, D, E, K), and minerals (calcium, magnesium, zinc). All these nutrients are crucial for keeping the cells healthy, the immune system calm, and supporting the detoxification pathways.

Hormonal Balance to Combat Mold’s Effects

When I was living in black mold and at my worst, I had the testosterone levels of a 90-year-old man. In addition, my cortisol levels were sky-high. I tried everything to get out of this situation, including hormone injections. Unfortunately, nothing worked. Within months of starting the colostrum, I could feel my hormones stabilize and my energy recover. It was a miracle after several years without progress.

Strengthening Detox Pathways to Eliminate Mold and Toxins

Colostrum supports both phase 1 and phase 2 detoxification. Both are essential for eliminating mycotoxins like trichothecenes, aflatoxins, ochratoxins, and zearalenone. In addition, it promotes detoxification through the kidneys and skin. When people have mycotoxin illness, their detoxification system is usually stagnant. To recover, you must get things moving somehow; colostrum is one of the best ways. At one point, I had peed clear for years until I started colostrum. Within hours of my first dose, my urine had color to it for the first time in several years.

FAQ- Colostrum and Mold Colonization

Is mold colonization common with mycotoxin illness?

No, mold colonization is not common among people with mycotoxin illness. Very few molds can colonize humans, and they typically have to be severely immunocompromised. I am not saying it isn’t possible; I’m just saying it’s probably less than 10% of mold illness cases. If you have concerns you may be colonized, you can perform an organic acid test. It will measure specific acid levels, which would be high if mold had colonized inside of you.

Chronic inflammatory response syndrome and mycotoxin hypersensitivity are common following exposure. This is why it is critical to do everything possible to calm inflammation if you are being exposed or recovering from exposure. In the end, inflammation is what drives the symptoms. If you can get the mast cells under control, you can go back to living a normal life for the most part.

How does colostrum help the body remove mycotoxins?

Yes, colostrum can stimulate the production of secretory IgA which is critical to removing mycotoxins. In fact, s-IgA is the body’s first line of defense against mycotoxins. Also, colostrum contains lactoferrin, which binds to mycotoxins and other harmful chemicals. In addition, colostrum can help to normalize gut bacteria like bifidobacterium. By doing so, colostrum indirectly reduces mycotoxins since these beneficial bacteria bind to them.

Will colostrum kill the mold that has colonized inside of me?

Colostrum does not directly kill mold; it provides your body with the resources to accomplish it. For example, colostrum can provide antibodies that bind to mycotoxins and pathogens, allowing them to be removed. It can also stimulate IgA, which causes your body to remove pathogens and toxins. In addition, it can normalize a dysfunctional immune response, which can initiate a process of pathogen removal.

For example, when I first started my daughter on colostrum, she broke out in scabs all over her legs. This was unlike anything I had ever seen. I knew it was some form of healing because I had never seen scabs before, and she started the colostrum two weeks earlier. Within 45 days, these were gone, and we never had skin issues again after. Did the colostrum kill the mold? No, but it activated the immune response, which allowed her body to do it naturally.

Just remember, it’s not about killing the mold; it’s about stabilizing the immune system, detox pathways, and bacterial balance in the gut. This is where colostrum shines, helping the body in all three areas without putting it at risk.

Is colostrum effective against fungus in the gut like candida?

Yes, colostrum can be effective against fungi like candida albicans. Since candida is commonly found in the environment, cows often produce antibodies to it in the colostrum. I believe this is what helped me overcome my horrendous candida infection, which had lasted for several years before I came across the colostrum. Within six months of using it five days per week, I never had another candida issue.

Do I have to kill mold inside me to overcome mycotoxin illness?

If you suffer from mycotoxin illness, you rarely need to target fungus. All you need to do is eliminate exposure, change your diet temporarily, and support your healing with supplements. In the rare circumstance that you are colonized, you need something that heals the gut, stabilizes the immune system, AND eliminates fungus. This is where the colostrum, “the miracle milk,” comes in.

Colostrum promotes healing from various angles while simultaneously suppressing overactive immune response. You cannot use antifungals and expect to get over your mold illness. Most of these antifungals disrupt the internal ecosystem, aggravating your immune system further. The most critical part of healing is balancing the mast cells/regulatory T cells, NOT killing something. By doing so, you stop the inflammatory cascade that is causing your symptoms.

Are my symptoms caused by mold colonization or mycotoxin hypersensitivity?

Many medical professionals debate this topic. In my opinion, the majority of cases where people experience chronic symptoms after changing where they live are due to mycotoxin hypersensitivity. Once exposed to a significant amount, your body will not tolerate even the littlest amount of mycotoxins. Unfortunately, nearly half of buildings and homes in the United States have issues with mold and mycotoxins.

People often believe their remaining symptoms are caused by mold colonization, not mycotoxin hypersensitivity. This leads them to attack the mold in their bodies, further jeopardizing their immune systems. In my experience, colostrum is the strongest antimicrobial you need to overcome mold illness. If you combine it with the right environment, a consistent stress reduction routine, and a few other key supplements, you will be on your way to recovery.

Conclusion- Colostrum Combats Mold Illness Colonization

Mold exposure rarely results in colonization, but when it does, the immune system has to be severely compromised. To overcome it, you can’t simply attack it with antifungals. In contrast, you want to restore the function of the immune system so it can fight it off. This will lead to lasting results rather than swings of progress and decline.

Over the 22 years I’ve been looking for natural supplements, nothing compares to raw colostrum. It saved my gut and restored my immune system so that I could overcome mycotoxin illness. This was an unintended benefit for which I was very grateful. With the effects I’ve seen on myself, my daughter, and my clients, I would strongly consider raw colostrum if you are concerned about mold colonization.
